For Educators,

There are lesson plans listed, both on each age group page and below:

Playing Guitar

Building Block 1:
Pitch/Notes

Pitches are how high or low notes are. Being able to tell the difference between them helps with pattern recognition and vocal awareness.

Building Block 2:
Rhythm

Rhythms are patterns of sound and silence in music.  These help students recognize and remember other types of patterns.

Building Block 3: Expression

Music can be used to express emotions. Students learn that they can relate to music and make music that expresses themselves.

Building Block 4: Instruments

Instruments create unique sound qualities. The use of various instruments make songs sound different. Recognizing traditional instruments and instruments in the world around them helps students realize that music is everywhere.
